Hey – welcome to the new blog; I hope you like it.

I still haven’t sorted out all the intricacies of WordPress – like automatic display of trackback codes and stuff, but no doubt all will come to me in the fullness of time. A few hours with the online manual should sort all that out. Many thanks to Ben Hamilton of Dynamic Web HostingDynamic Web Hosting for his mammoth efforts to get me online.

In the meantime, kick back, relax and enjoy life! And remember… communicate with PASSION!

Hey Professor Hopkins… love the new look! Crisp, easy to follow — all the right stuff. I’ll have to go back to the drawing board!

    Ha ha ha!!!

After your own redesign I can’t think of ANYTHING you need to do to yours! Thanks for letting me be inspired by your good taste.

Lee, great to see your new presence. Very nice work. You certainly got up and running with WordPress very quickly.

    G’day Neville,

Yes, things came together relatively quickly once I got over the few initial hurdles. Having a rudimentary knowledge of css REALLY helped!

But mostly it was the advice and guidance of Ben at dynamic web hosting that got me up and running so fast.

I take your points regarding requiring a good working knowledge of the new technology (FIR-60) to play in this communication space. It was certainly less daunting than had I not had that cursory acquaintance. Which is why I recommend Blogger to beginners – the learning curve is manageable for a complete tyro.

Last month, I started a new blog on a hosted server with Movable Type. Now that’s steep learning! I’m now looking at WordPress – very easy by comparison, especially with setup and getting the look-and-feel how you want it from the start. Eventually I wilI migrate my current TypePad-hosted blogs. MT or WP? Haven’t decided yet.

Re Blogger for beginners, there’s now a new game in town – WordPress hosted service. Not seen it yet (by invitation only) but if ‘regular’ WP is any indicator, that new service should be a very attractive option to consider along with Blogger.
