It’s life, Jim, but not as we know it

Mylor at sunset

Intrepid readers of this humble blog will no doubt recall that I am about to embark on a journey to Dubai and Qatar.

I will be leaving dogs, kith and kin at home for two weeks as I traverse Arabian deserts and the harsh dangers of 5-star hotels whilst Mrs BetterComms has the indescribable joy of having two weeks holiday at home with our two teenagers on their school holidays.

I get to come back just as they are launched head-first into the new school year, so will reluctantly miss the last two weeks of their massive nine-week holiday — a time when traditionally they are bored out of their brains and cause havoc and mayhem to ‘liven things up a bit’.

So as a way of giving myself a reminder of what life is like back home whilst I do battle with foreign barmen, I post this image of our beautiful part of the world as I often see it on my sunset walks, taken recently via my new Nokia 3230.

Envy is an emotion that will eat you up…

  • Woa...what a trip. Safe travels, my friend. We'll all be interested to hear about your journey.
  • Lee, I was wondering when your Arabian Adventure was beginning. Good luck to you and to Mrs. BetterComms, holding down the fort with the teenagers. I am sure you will let us know how your workshops go. Of course the students will love you.
