Most times this isn't a problem, but I do recall buying a service online one particular time. I needed the phone number I was purchasing to be in New York City. The person on the other end asked me, "What state is that in?" Ok, then, I thought, so I guess you're not in North America, eh? Pet peeve: I consider myself good at deciphering accented speech, but there are times when I have no bloody idea what the caller is saying. WHY would someone who cannot speak English clearly be phoning English-speaking people? I don't care how low the wages are, that's just nuts. Yes, it’s amazing to learn that the person you’re speaking with is not only not in the same city, but not even on the same continent.
