Call out to the wild:
“Anyone interested in a design project?”
If you are a budding designer, keen to try designing for blogs and websites, or else you know someone who is, then please get in contact.
Loose requirements:

Must be a design that works for both this blog and my main website
-
Must be designed in css
-
Must be professional looking
-
Needs to be a passionate hybrid of the following: Allan Jenkins’ superb-looking blog and Derek Hanson’s superb csszengarden design

If possible and where practical use the css-driven drop-down menus designed by Eric Meyer (found in More Eric Meyer on CSS, pages 120-148)

Design must work in both IE/Win and normal standards-compliant browsers such as FireFox.
I can supply some or all of the imagery that might be required — such as a blank post-it note, for example (found in Derek’s zengarden design).

Yes, been fiddling while Rome burned… Figured it made a good ‘hook’ since I say it at the end of every podcast.
I put my neck on the line. Either the 4th and final day off work was going to show some real dividends and I pick up on things in a flash, or I’m seeing things which are already there (which is just as dangerous seeing things that aren’t there, on occasion).
The expression is synonymous with you, it has to be here!
I would, of course, offer you my services at an unbeatable price (I’m on the CSS learning curve myself), but it took me two days to get my cocomments page together. And that still isn’t perfect yet.

hahaha — feel your pain! That’s why I put in the proviso about Win/IE and Ffox — because Win/IE is notorious for being standards non-compliant!

Ahh, young master Jenkins, those are autopost links for other less-popular services than Flickr, Technorati and the like…
It’s a WordPress plugin slotted in by the kind and wise Ben Hamilton for me.
The colours are nice, hey?
And I figured out how the ‘related posts’ works in RocketPost: it automatically picks up frm your technorati tags on a post any previous posts with the same technorati tags.
Although I don’t use it for my blog (I use Blogger & one of their CSS templates), I am on my second template from oswd.org for my webcast/personal site (www.geocities.com/claren44/radio). The template I use now (Reflection) has been screwed up & fixed…er, modified by moi several times. All templates are free & many if not all validate as CSS & XHTML. Just substitute image(s) & content & you are set.
I first heard you on FIR, & now subscribe to your podcast. Having run a webcast for 4 years, I appreciate how little time you can steal for the podcast, so I thank you for any future shows you can find time to create.

Re your templates — from where did you get them? Are they part of the geocities package? Are they free for anyone to pinch/purloin/screw up and fix?
I’ll keep podcasting as often as I can — thanks for understanding that time is sometimes a rare commodity.
