Good news in a bad week

G'day! Thanks for returning!

Regular readers of this blog will remember that back about two months ago or so I was stressing about having to write two x 4,000 essays for my Masters program.

A lot was happening in my life during that time (like that ever changes!), leaving me less time than I would have liked to focus on them. I was prepared and would be happy with a ‘pass’.

In a week that can be rated 2/10 both personally and professionally, I got my marks back today — 85% and 98%

The corks will be a-poppin’ tonight!

Thank you, friends - a mighty hangover this morning!!

    Oh, and Owen:
    1) yes, there are such things as dumb Americans, as there are dumb Australians (one of them occasionally posts on this blog) but you ain't one of 'em, mate

    2) 2/10 refers to a week that could be rated 'two out of ten' in terms of how successful (or, indeed, otherwise) it has been -- not a good week for me at all, either personally (want to live life to the full? Have a teenage son) or professionally (it looks like I will have to find a full-time job as the consultancy here in Adelaide just isn't enough to sustain me or the family in an increasingly expensive economy)

    3) 85% is a 'High Distinction' (bloody good), 98% is fackin' phenomenal -- I've never heard of anyone ever getting that close to the 'perfect' score of 100 before.
  • Good effort Mr Hopkins.
  • You wild man, you kick-ass wild man. Congrats!
  • well done mate
  • Congratulations!

I still don't get the ration thing in the UK's grades and the 2/10 thing for Australia, but I'm just a dumb American.
  • Congrats, Lee. Enjoy the well-deserved celebration!
  • Congratulations!
Enjoy it and live it up.
