CoComment now working properly

Many thanks to the huge effort of Christophe over at CoComment — everything is now working as it should.

It turns out that my firewall, ZoneAlarmPro, was stopping the cookies from ‘sticking’. With that resolved my profile stays ‘logged in’ and comments that I track stay in my profile.

Thanks again, Christophe, for all your help behind the scenes — very much appreciated!

Hi Lee, I’m preparing a post for the coComment blog on this issue, and I was wondering if you could fill me in with some missing information: how did you resolve the problem, exactly? Stopped using ZoneAlarm? Change ZoneAlarm settings? did Christophe change something on our side to make it work now without you changing anything?

    Thanks :-)

    Hi Stephanie,

It was a cookie setting in ZoneAlarmPro that was causing the problem.

I have an image of how I rectified it here:
    http://leehopkins.net/images/cc-zap.png

It involved changing the ’3rd party’ box to a tick instead of the default cross (see the site beneath cocomment).

But Christophe made a large search of the database and was able to to determine many things, including that I was definately logged in even when my browser was saying I wasn’t.

In the end it was his suggestion to check my cookie settings that solved it.

Hoping this helps and please let me know if I can be of any more assistance.

    Cheers,
    Lee

Thanks a lot! Like that I can give our users the solution in the blog post if they have the same problem. :-)

Oh — can I include that screenshot in my post? Is it OK for you if I make a local copy of it?
