Second Life

There are changes afoot in Second Life… at least around Podcast Island.

The two manager/owners of it are pulling down the Mall (where both FIR and the Cafe have/had a booth) and replacing it with something else.

So rather than wait around and see what they are going to build, I took it upon myself, as part owner of the Better Desirable Roasted Communications Cafe franchise (public offering coming soon) to rent a spiffy new apartment.

Here’s some photos:

This is the iPod-style media player. Just click on the pickle and it streams our latest chat into a browser, also giving you the option to listen to the previous chats that still appear in our rss feed

…of course, the beauty of this player is that I can direct it to any feed, or direct to an mp3 file. Imagine if, for example, I was selling something — I could have gentle background information about that something playing, or you could click to find out more and listen to an mp3 about it. Great sales tool or what?! I don’t know if it could handle video, or whether it is an audio-only tool, but I’m sure there must be other players available for purchase in Second Life that let you stream video in…

Here’s hoping you drop by soon (and you won’t get stuck in the umbrella, Sab! )… Look for me, I’m “Lee Laperriere”.

What a tremendous job you have done on our pad, brother! It is certainly the place for smart, well-dressed, intelligent people.

Thanks, brother! Indeed, anyone who is ANYONE in PR/Marcomms will be mandated by their CEOs to visit us to find out if we really ARE as cool as everyone says…

I’ve even put some art on the walls now, so it’s not so bare… the homely touches!

At some stage I think we are going to have to buy our own little piece of paradise and set up a house like CC Chapman has — because you can’t get a listing in the search directory (like, say, for ‘the cafe’) unless it is actually on a plot of land — being in an apartment block doesn’t count.
