Whilst comparing our white paper to scripture is, as Kevin Dugan admits, a bit too far fetched, his kind review also adds to the growing list of folks who have been kind in their commentaries (although you need to sort out the formatting on that post, Kevin).
The ‘page number’ problem that Des noted is bizarre — and, I believe, a software problem. I originally created the document in Word2007 Beta 2, sent it across to Trevor (who wasn’t road testing the Beta), and between us it went back and forth as we tidied up, corrected spelling errors, my grammar, some links, etc.
With the document finally in ‘shipping’ order, I ran it through Acrobat 7 Pro and published it.
Neither Trevor nor I thought to look at the page numbering, assuming as we did that Acrobat did what it always did and ‘looked’ into the document footer and recognise the page numbers. Only this time Acrobat didn’t.
Whether that is because of Acrobat not recognising some of the brand new formatting of Word2007, or Acrobat 7 not ‘doing its job properly’ is unknown. But I’ve created a new document post-haste in the current retail version of Word, run it through Acrobat 7 and fixed it.
