The Aussie election is *finally* upon us. Yea!

My fine colleague and exceptionally tall blogger Trevor Cook and his colleagues at JWM have created a very handy eight-page guide to the election issues, a snip at the very reasonable price of $0.

As with all things that emanate from Trevor’s keyboard, it is full of wisdom, insight and bloody dead handy info to know.

Cunningly called "The Jackson Wells Federal Election Guide", JWM look at such topics as what it will take to win and form a government, which seats the coalition will need to fight to keep, a consideration of the ‘green’ element as far as the Senate is concerned, some likely new faces in the ALP frontline if Labor gets over the line first, the historical context of this election and much, much more.

As Trevor says,

"Download Fedelect07.pdf.

As usual, comments and feedback most welcome.

I have also written two pieces for ABC Unleashed and expect to contribute more over the coming weeks and I’m going to participate in a citizen journalism project on Larvatus Prodeo with pieces about the electorates of North Sydney and Warringah.

Errata: These corrections have been made. 1. On page 4, I suggest that Stewart Macarthur the member for Corangamite has retired it has been pointed out to me that this is not true. 2. The ALP candidate for Eden-Monaro is a Colonel not a major or captain as referred to in the guide."

Definitely worth grabbing and digesting! Thanks Trevor.
