Honey, I’ve found my birthday present

G'day! Thanks for returning!

Buying birthday presents for me can be a challenge. I only ever ask for two things: book vouchers or expensive bits of tech kit.

Invariably I get neither {sob}.

Amit Agarwal has let me know that my birthday present of choice for this year is the toolkit that Nokia is trialling with Reuters journos at the moment:

Nokia has released an N-95 mobile phone based kit for journalists to file news reports and multimedia stories (images and videos) while they are in the field without having to visit the news studio.

This mobile journalist kit contains an N95 phone, a Sony microphone for recording interviews, keyboard for typing text-based stories, tripod and a solar charger (so you can even report from locations where there’s no electricity).

If Nokia Australia are looking for someone to ‘road test’ their toolkit, or someone to road test their E90 Communicator, then I know someone who would be VERY interested to hear from you {grin}.

  • Nope, if you were my inSignificant other, I'd get you the anti-TequilaTexting phone. It's a mobile cellphone with breathalyser capabilities.

    here

Only I don't want a phone that tells you you are too drunk to drive but one that says " are you SURE you want to send that text message?? Really? REALLY??"
