IE vs Firefox/Flock

Bizarre happenings here at BetterComms Towers this morning.

Not only did I accompany Mrs BetterComms on her morning walk at 6.15am, but even more bizarre than that the browsers I use are behaving badly.

Internet Explorer 7 shows my blog looking all nice and tidy. But look at my blog in Firefox or Flock and you get a very ugly site.

Can anyone else see what I’m seeing???

Permalink looks ok, but the front page has the border colour as the background of the main body under firefox.

Your site has been “broken” in Firefox for ages–the sidebar doesn’t stay on the side, but gets shoved to the bottom. Probably something in the basic CSS, which is set only to allow items of a certain width to fit. I’m sure I mentioned this to you once or twice, but eventually I just gave up, and I switch engines when I want to read your blog.

omg, I DETEST browser and platform (pc/mac) incompatabilities.

I wrote in an earlier post about how the clock (‘Adelaide Time’) stays in the right place until the page has fully loaded, then jumps right to the bottom of the page.

Instead of spending time on my research, I now have to play silly buggers with stuff I have very little knowledge about.

    Grrrrrr………..

Well, “r**t me rigid” as we’d say here…

Go to a single post and all looks fine — the clock is even where it’s supposed to be; go to the home page and everything’s stuffed…

    Bigger Grrrrrr……

    FIXED!

I originally tried embedding Eric’s Seesmic video, but it caused all manner of hassles so I deleted it.

Unfortunately a tiny bit of code remained which stuffed things up.

Remove that code = peace and happiness again! Even the clock stays put across Firefox and Flock! Yippee!!

Lee, the sidebar is down at the bottom as I type this. I’m using Firefox 2.whatever is the latest update. This is the first time I’ve had this problem (I have had the clock madness before).
I’m sure that when it’s sorted out, you’ll use my standard quote in such matters: “How does ANYTHINBG work on-freakin’-line!?!”.
    Or words to that effect…
Love & Peace, Clarence (who’s blog looks horrific right now-darned Blogger templates)
