She kept complaining about the airplanes flying over and making noise, and decided to file lawsuits. By doing this, she was able to change the flight times. But, this was because she kept using up the resources of the city there, which could not stop her from filing suits for small things, even if she keeps losing. What kind of legal system do we have where people can file frivolous lawsuits without penalties? Where does this "legal" intimidation stop? Effort which would normally be exerted on research and reporting now must be shifted to dealing with defense. In addition, legal defense costs would dip into operating funds which are likely fairly tight, since most alternative news outlets operate on donations or similar financial support. Even if the case were to be successfully defended, the brunt of the financial burden may be more than the site owners can realistically absorb. Let's hope people step up to support these sites since the "Old Age legal tactics" could be the modus operendi for taking down other popular alternative news outlets in the future.
