I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to hang out more and more on Plaxo than I am on Facebook.
Sure, the ‘notes’ section in FB are dead handy — seeing what others have posted and commented, but Plaxo has the same offering.
What is really ‘selling’ me about Plaxo, though, is that it seems to be what LinkedIn wanted to be — a place for business people to share ideas, reviews, etc., without being asked to sink one’s teeth into the necks of young virgins, accept gifts that grow, buy someone a love puppy, rate someone’s aroma or dating potential, or something equally inane.
Plaxo have a nice desktop notifier, as well as some tools that sync your Outlook data with your profile (handy if your Outlook files or Windows itself decides to play ‘funny buggers’). You can also sync to a windows mobile device.
If you are confused by the plethora of websites with funny names that appear every day and you are repeatedly requested by email to join, might I suggest that Plaxo is one that you should consider — you might even come to consider it as ‘Facebook for grown-ups’.
If only they had a simple-to-remember link to your profile like LinkedIn does… Still, you can always use this one: http://snipurl.com/2gngk [pulse_plaxo_com]
Now, if only Microsoft would fix the sync ability with my sidekick/hiptop3, I’d be happy!
