My mate Glenn Murray (@divinewrite) has written a bottler of a book on SEO tactics and strategy. I know because he let me read a copy of it before he put it on sale and I was blown away!
Beautifully designed (unlike some books I’d spent many $hundreds on and which resembled a photocopy from a typewriter manuscript), it reads like a charm and makes even complete duffers like me believe that they can significantly improve their search engine rankings.
I put some of Glenn’s suggestions to the test and saw my Google Adsense revenue on one site jump from $4 a week to $4 a day! Impressive!
And the Table of Contents impressed me with the depth of thought and understanding that Glenn had about SEO:
- Understand what SEO means
- Why are search engines so important?
- What’s the difference between organic search results and paid listings?
- Which is more effective?
- How do search engines work?
- So what is SEO?
- How long will it take for SEO to increase my ranking?
- Choose your keywords
- What is keyword analysis?
- Keyword analysis tools
- Keyword analysis complexities
- Develop your website right
- Development checklist
- Choose the right web host
- Use HTML text copy, links & breadcrumb trails… and anything else important
- Position your content toward the top of your HTML code
- Create lots of content and regularly update your site
- Optimize Your HTML Meta-Tags
- Use image captions
- Structure your site around keywords
- Optimize your internal link architecture
- Add Titles to internal links
- Link to related sites
- Check for broken links
- Add a sitemap page
- Create an open format / Google sitemap
- Use permanent 301 redirects for changed URLs
- Create a custom 404 error handling page
- Create a robots.txt file
- Use subfolders or subdomains – they’re both OK
- … and on and on – there’s nothing that he’s missed and plenty that other SEO writers forget to include (secrets they don’t want to give out, perhaps?).
Don’t make the mistake of thinking that Glenn’s book SEO Secrets is just like one of those detestable ‘fluff and filler’ ebooks – no way, mate!
Glenn knows his stuff, and unlike some writers I could point a finger at (one’s I’ve spent a lot of dollars on their products only to find them a waste of time and money), Glenn has reached the top of the search engines using the very methods he advocates:
- page 1 for "SEO copywriter" (see Google search)
- page 1 for "website copywriter" (see Google search)
- page 1 for "advertising copywriting" (see Google search)
- page 1 for "website copywriting" (see Google search)
- page 1 for "copywriting forum" (see Google search)
- page 1 for "copywriter forum" (see Google search)
- page 2 for "copywriter" (see Google search)
- page 2 for "advertising copywriter" (see Google search)
- page 2 for "internet copywriter" (see Google search)
You can read a sample chapter, look at the full Table of Contents, or read the testimonials of a raft of people who, like me, think this book is the “bee’s knees” (or “the dog’s” as they say in London).
Glenn’s masterpiece of a “how to” book on SEO is just $79.95 – and I absolutely guarantee that you could NOT make a better investment in 2009, no matter who you are!
