UPDATE:
LOL!!
We might just have to pop in for scones and a nice cup of tea, then…
Can Allan and I expect such a welcome as this? |
That international man of mystery and my arch rival and nemesis, Allan Jenkins, and I are planning on road-tripping from Seattle down to San Francisco in time for the IABC World Conference in June.
Over the last week or so Allan (@allanjenkins) has been twittering about the trip and possible routes we might take in our amble through the North Americas.
The Director of the North Bend Visitor & Convention Bureau, Coos Bay — @oregonkat — and her colleague @TravelCoosBay have conspired to create a flickr group in order to encourage me to visit their hamlet.
Bring @leehopkins to Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston area campaign
This group is all about posting great photos of the area to convince blogger @leehopkins and @allanjenkins to make us one of their stops on their Seattle to San Francisco trip.
If you have great photos of our area, please post here and help a coastie out
: )
I have replied that, so far, it will depend on how friendly the natives are.
But it’s a great example of using Twitter as a way of generating ‘conversation’ and collegiality – should Jenko and I decide to visit (even stay??) then we might already feel partially ‘at home’ because of the rapport being built up.
There’s also some video footage – www.oregonsadventurecoast.com
