A radical approach to information delivery – including the killing off of email lists until the readers are *really* warm – that is, until they actually come back for more. I'm not sure how online/direct marketers feel about this idea, but it is something I have long argued for – bypass the 'give me your email address and I'll give you your free report', because I usually just end up being sent zillions of emails I actually don't want. Yes, I know I can unsubscribe, but what a pain – I'd prefer not to have to in the first place.
But if the content was offered for free, no strings attached, and THEN if the reader came back for more, you have a much warmer market and higher chance of them 'buying' into your products or services… one to think about, methinks…
