A quick video today after a discussion with a friend (part-owner/managing director) who is thinking of his business participating in Twitter but doesn’t want to tweet endless Foursquare updates about being in a coffee shop.
As I explained to him, social media strategy has within itself considerable flexibility; you do and say what you want to do and say. They key is to want to engage in conversation in the first place.
My advice is always to test the platforms out in private, away from the public gaze, to give yourself time to understand them and to see if, after a fortnight or so and a few goes, you are comfortable with that platform. After all, not everyone is a big a ham as me and loves being in front of an audience or a camera
